For this project, we provided electrical engineering for a new five-story, 180,000 square foot educational use building. The building contains classrooms, faculty offices, department offices and support spaces. In addition, the building also houses a performing arts component with a concert hall, theater, recital hall, production studios, music/dance studio, electronic music studio, sound studio, and related support spaces. The main theater includes flexible seating to change from proscenium to theater-in-the-round and all varieties in between. Systems addressed by our work included interior and exterior lighting, lighting controls, building electrical service, power distribution, equipment power connections, emergency power, fire alarm, security provisions, media distribution raceway and telephone/data raceway. We also designed all of the interior and exterior lighting for 3 black box theaters on the campus, one for each school, UCD, CCD and CU of Denver.
